Hound - Large - Adult - Female - Dog - Cassey
Description
Update: Casey is pain free and has adjusted well to shelter life. She is unsure of new people but is devoted to her people. She is great with other dogs and loves her kennel mates. Poor Cassey was dropped off unable to stand, 2-3 days after she went into labor; she had a dead puppy lodged in her birth canal. After emergency surgery to remove 10 more dead puppies, Cassey is slowly recouperating at the shelter. Each day for Cassey is a milestone; she raised her head, ate willingly, began to walk, , wagged her tail, and finally after two weeks she greeted us at the gate, waiting for her morning walk. She is still on pain medicine, on antibiotics, and a medication to help with incontinence. Please consider a donation to help cover her surgery and continuing medical care. Once she recouperates more fully she will be available for adoption -- her owners have not contacted us to reclaim her.
