9/17/09- lucky Annie is being fostered by a trainer that is going to work with her to get her Canine Good Citizen certification as well as begin working with her as a therapy dog. We see a bright future for this gorgeous hound!!! This is Annie Oakley, and she's about 5 years old and 65 pounds. She's a typical sweet hound who was picked up as a stray in 2006 and has been waiting ever since to find her forever home. Many a hunter has wanted to adopt her as she is a purebred Treeing Walker Coonhound, but she's a LOVER, NOT A HUNTER!! She adores the attention of children and would love to romp all day in the sun with a family. She would make a great companion for another dog, a terrific bed warmer and a best friend! We think Annie has a LOT to offer....and did we mention that she's GORGEOUS? She has the classic Tri-Color markings...she would make a gorgeous oil painting in an old Virginia mansion!
